About Us
Loring Smart Roast is being launched across Europe by Smart Roast Europe and is a collaboration between Loring Smart Roast and Steve Penk and Chris Glossop – the driving force behind La Spaziale espresso machines and Mahlkönig in the UK.

Steve Penk and Chris Glossop
Between them Steve and Chris have over 40 years of coffee industry experience and have been an instrumental part of the growth of Speciality Coffee throughout the UK. Steve Penk has sat as a board Director of the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe for the past 4 years and takes over as Vice President of the Association on 1st July 2009. He also sits on the Board of the World Barista Championships and is honoured to be the current Chair of the board. Having dedicated vast amounts of time, effort and resources to the cause of Speciality Coffee throughout Europe over the last 5 years, there can be few who are better known or positioned to take the Smart Roast technology to the European coffee market.
